Renewal cycle

Continuing-education requirements
Drinking water: VSS/VND 5 TCH; 1D/1T/2D/2T 10; 3D/3T 15; 4D/4T 20. Active wastewater operators: 20 TCH per cycle, with no more than 10 safety hours.
Reciprocity / out-of-state operators
Wastewater reciprocity covers an operator who passed another state's written exam and meets Massachusetts experience requirements, or qualifies through an accepted registry. Drinking-water reciprocity requires an accepted/Board-approved certification or exam plus Massachusetts education and experience requirements, including sequential-exam and prerequisite-course rules; the Board directs applicants to use the eLIPSE licensing process and contact drinkingwaterboard@mass.gov for reciprocity review.
